Delivery time issues.

If this is a custom made item please be aware it is not always possible to send these out immediately as they have to be made up from scratch.

Most custom made items are sent out the following day depending on what time the order was received to allow time under tension to settle.

Once made these are then posted out using royal mail standard service (unless specified other)

I do not work on these 7 days a week and at weekends I am usually running shoots or other events however i will always try my best to make sure all orders are completed and posted out as quickly as possible.

Certain days i may get lots more orders for custom made items and it is not always possible to get all orders made and sent in the post straight away.

Please also bear in mind that postal service delays are possible around various times of the year due to public holidays.

Postal services do not run on bank holidays so take that into account if order stated “due to arrive Monday” on a bank holiday Monday, it will not.

Please bear this in mind before leaving negative feedback for late delivery.

International Shipping

Please note that some countries have longer customs procedures than others and as this is an item that certain countries will not have a category for or may have legal conflicts with delivery in some countries will take longer than others.

Should your item have taken longer than you feel is necessary please bear this in mind before leaving negative feedback.

Countries known to have longer delays for bow related products currently are

Brazil, Columbia, Peru, Mexico, Argentina, Australia(Victoria, Queensland), Finland,

String length issues.

Should you find that the string you have received is of the incorrect size for your bow, please remain calm as all can be fixed.

First of all, returns for any reason are always allowed so please just be honest if you have ordered an incorrect item.

Recurve bows

Be aware strings for recurve bows are measured in bow length and not actual length unless this has been asked for beforehand.

For example if you order a 60” bow string you will get a string for a 60” bow and not a string that is 60” in length.

In this case the string length will have an actual length of 56” when measured from end to end when pulled tight.

Recurve crossbows

Please note that when these strings are made the loops are stretched over a form to give them the rounded shape they have.

This means that whilst the string is easier to install for the first time the string can also appear slightly shorter than it is until the loops are pulled straight.

As stated above this can be returned easily enough should you find you have made a mistake when ordering and will be swapped or refunded without the need for arguments.

Damaged/Broken String

First of all do not shoot this without an arrow in the bow as this WILL cause damage and potentially injury.

Should your string have issues with damage/fraying or breaking please bear in mind that these strings are made of very tough modern materials so snapping is very unlikely no matter what weight/type of bow you have.

The more common reasons for strings to “snap” or fray are below and should be looked into and corrected before continuing use of your bow or trying to replace the string.

Recurve bows

Center serving damage

Armguard

Strings catching your armguard will usually fray the centre serving just below the nocking point you may not feel it but even the slightest contact can damage a string over time. If the damage is on the centre serving below the nocking point this is something to check on.

Bowstand

Some bowstands that hold the string in a plastic clip are not always made very well and have moulding lines where the string will sit. This rough patch will rub against the centre serving below the nocking point and wear through.

Arrow nocks damaged/too tight

damage around the nocking point of the string is often caused by a damaged nock that is still being shot. This can over time cut/fray the centre serving at the nocking point.

Also if the nocks are too tight a fit this can also cause damage.

Loop serving

Rough/damaged limb tips

Damage to the loop servings can often be caused by damaged limb tips this is something to watch out for as without attention this can get worse over time.

Constant rubbing on the loop serving can cut its way through the protective serving over a short space of time. Running your finger or some tissue over the area can often show up damage or worn areas.

Wide Limb tips

Some bows will have wider limb tips than others so i you have the top loop sliding up/down the limb tip during stringing, wider limbs can often force the loop to separate over time this way.

String upside down

The top loop of a string is usually larger than the bottom loop, this is to allow the loop to slide down the top limb during stringing.
if this is very tight and becoming damaged as a result it is possible that the string is on upside down.

Damage to main body of the string
String catching on items in bowcase
if incorrectly put away a string can become entangled in other items in your bow case or even trapped in the hinges/opening of a case, this can cause fraying of the string material and is likely to drastically lower the lifespan of this string.

Chest guard
should you find that your string is fraying below the centre serving the likely cause of this is either contact with your clothing or chestguard.

Recurve Crossbow string
First of all do not shoot this without a bolt/arrow in the bow as this Will cause damage and potentially injury

damage to centre serving
This kind of damage is inevitable and will happen to even the best made strings after a certain number of shots.
should you find the centre serving is becoming damaged quicker than usual. The usual problems are.

Sharp/Rough trigger unit
with lower cost bows the claw that holds your string back before shooting can be poorly made and is often very sharp on the edges or has rough spots, this can shorten string life considerably this should be checked if centre serving life is very short on your bow.

Rough Rail
if you shoot in outdoors environments it is very easy for your bow to get knocked over or get muddy/scratched and this can become a problem on the rail.
if this becomes scratched this creates a rough section that the centre serving will have to travel down which can wear away at the serving much quicker than a smooth lubricated rail.

Damaged Bolt/Arrow
If you have hit the back of a bolt with another you could have created sharp areas on the nock end of your bolt. This will then cause damage to the centre serving so check bolts regularly for damage.

Damaged Loop Serving
Rough limb nocks
Should you find that the loops are becoming damaged on this then the first thing to check is that the limb nocks where the loops sit are not damaged/rough or missing the plastic limb protector.
if so do not use the bow until this is rectified.
Correctly fitted.
was the string fitted correctly on the limb nocks? If the string loop was not completely in place before shooting it is possible that the loop has come free during shooting and caused damage by moving up the limb at high speed.

When fitting a string please carefully ensure that the loops are in place correctly before using.

Flemish twist strings are held together by the twists in them please do not untwist them large amounts or they will fall apart

Other
Please note there are many other causes of problems that have not been mentioned here i have tried to cover the more common ones should you feel you may need help with this don’t hesitate to get in touch and any issues can be resolved.
